When I set out to make comics, one of the big goals was to announce new SIRE projects at Comic Cons. At the time, there were only two major conventions: Wizard World Chicago and San Diego Comic Con.
As the former is all but gone, it was intensely gratifying to have announced two new Sire projects: The Sire: Aftermath and Phazer/Sire: Lost in Time Remastered featuring Steranko at the APEX Comics Panel!
The funny part (as shown above) was host Mariano Nicieza was running from another panel he was a part of, and I had to fill in at the podium until he arrived…which luckily was JUST in time for our annoucements (see below)!
The Sire: Aftermath picks up right after the Volume 3 trade paperback. The Sire has stopped the bad guy but triggered an alien invasion in the process. To save the village…we have to destroy it! We’ll have more info on this book in the coming weeks including the official Kickstarter launch date.
Meanwhile, a project you can start following RIGHT NOW on Indiegogo is Phazer/Sire LIT: Remastered. Featuring a cover by Steranko, this new edition expands from 48 pages to 72 and will feature some new art, new story and a host of other goodies.

There isn’t a better feeling than launching something on a giant screen in front of a captive audience. And while the audience itself was probably comprised of mostly APEX comics fans, it made for a great platform to introduce the character to them.
Aside from business, San Diego is always a great spot to NETWORK and connect with old friends. I managed to get invites to a couple of cool parties including the CBDLF party, some not as cool parties like IGN and just grabbing drinks with fellow creators.
Is there more to announce? Hell yeah! Do I have time and/or permission to announce it here? Not yet. But stay tuned. Good stuff around the corner!
